Here’s a post on a few things that don’t belong together. I’m a busy man though, putting together powerful business deals while wearing blue dress shirts with white collars. I don’t have time for 4 different posts! That would take me upwards of 10 additional minutes. That’s lifting time brozenheimer.

Too Many Cooks

Have you seen this? Have you heard about this? I saw this link pop up on Facebook yesterday and it’s spiraled out of control ever since. According to this AV Club postToo Many Cooks initially aired in the 4 a.m. infomercial slot right after Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim wraps up. It’s a weird homage to 80s TV that fits right in with the same channel that gave us Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! and Space Ghost Coast to Coast. It starts off as a straight up parody of late 80s/early 90s family sitcoms before it starts to transcend genres. Then, it gets much, much darker.

I was genuinely disturbed by that. And now the song is my head. I fear it just might not stop. Please…help me.

Toy Story 4

It looks like Pixar is going back to the Toy Story well, as it was announced that John Lasseter would be returning to direct a fourth installment. It’s hard to complain, since the existing Toy Story films are all great. But just how much more nostalgia can Disney/Pixar wring out of me? I barely made it through Toy Story 3 without going through an entire box of tissues.

I have all the faith in the world that the movie will be fantastic, but I really wonder if there is such a thing as too much with Toy Story. Guess we’ll find out in 2017, when all toys will be holographic drones or something.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier VHS Trailer

This is a pretty terrific trailer for The Winter Soldier as if it was a shoddy VHS release.

Elvis & Nixon

Michael Shannon is playing Elvis in a movie about the King’s meeting with Richard Nixon. You read that all right, but it gets better: Kevin Spacey is playing Richard Nixon.

Spacey as Nixon is bizarre, but it doesn’t even touch the super intense Shannon as Elvis. Michael Shannon is best known for his roles as Zod in Man of Steel and Nelson Van Alden on Boardwalk Empire. His specialty tends to be deadly serious, angry people. Hearing that he’s playing Elvis is fairly jarring.

Maybe they’ll change the movie to Elvis V. Nixon: Change of Culture and Elvis can wear a robot suit to take on Nixon and Checkers. I’d watch that.
